4 home runs separate Aaron Judge from the American League record

THE NEW YORK For Yankees supporters, the anticipation is growing as Aaron Judge strives to set a record.

He now has 57 home runs on the year after hitting two on Tuesday in Boston. He now needs four more to equal Roger Maris' 1961 American League record, which was previously held by him.

Even though it wouldn't be an MLB record, it would still be an impressive performance.

Only 52 players in the league have hit 20 home runs so far this year, and Judge currently leads the league with the most with 40.

He has already advanced further than Roger Maris did when he established the record more than 60 years ago, according to an image the Yankees tweeted.

With a runner on third base and the score tied at 4-4 in the 10th inning, Boston manager Alex Cora instructed reliever Jeurys Familia to intentionally walk Judge.
